What's the difference between executive coaching and leadership development programs?
Leadership development programs build skills across a group. Executive coaching works at the individual level, on identity, presence, decision-making and the specific leadership challenges you’re actually facing right now. Most programs teach you frameworks. Coaching helps you figure out which ones are true for you and how to lead from that place with conviction.
For senior women leaders who’ve already done the programs and know the frameworks, coaching is often where the real shift happens. The knowledge was never the missing piece. The story just hadn’t caught up yet.
How do I know if I need 1:1 coaching or if my team needs a leadership workshop?
The simplest way to think about it: if the challenge lives inside you, start with coaching. If the challenge lives between people, start with a workshop.
If something has shifted in how you lead, how you feel about your leadership, or how clearly you can articulate your own direction, 1:1 coaching is the right starting point. That’s identity and presence work, and it happens at the individual level.
If the challenge is relational, teams pulling in different directions, communication breaking down, a shared purpose nobody can quite articulate — a Team Clarity Lab or Lumina workshop is where to begin. That’s alignment work, and it happens between people.
In practice many leaders do both, and the sequence matters. You can’t align a team around a story you haven’t found yet.
How long does executive coaching take and what does the process actually look like?
Most 1:1 coaching engagements run 3 months with bi-weekly sessions, though 6 and 12 month engagements are available for leaders who want to go deeper or sustain the work over time. Every engagement includes a Lumina Spark or Lumina Sales assessment to create a shared language for how you lead, communicate and show up under pressure.
Sessions are structured but not rigid. The work goes where it needs to go. Most clients notice a shift in how they show up within the first few weeks. By the end of a full engagement the changes tend to be tangible — clearer decision-making, stronger leadership presence, a more confident and consistent voice, and a much sharper sense of where they’re going and why.
Team workshops run from 90 minutes to a full day depending on what the team needs. Every workshop is designed around your specific context, not a generic off-the-shelf program.
What does executive coaching with ZenZero cost?
Coaching is a significant investment and the right fit matters more than the price point. Engagements are priced based on scope, length and whether the work is individual or organizational. Rather than publishing a rate that might not reflect what you actually need, the best starting point is a conversation. If it’s not the right fit financially or otherwise, we’ll tell you, and where possible point you toward something that is.
